White Plains artist Erwin Ong's piece Thinking of Burritos is included in The Art of Food, a group exhibition at Yonkers Arts that explores the rich intersection of food, memory, culture, and community.

About the Show
Curated by Yonkers Arts, The Art of Food is a multidisciplinary showcase celebrating food not just as sustenance, but as story, identity, and sensory experience. From nostalgic family recipes to political statements, the show invites artists to reflect on the role food plays in how we connect with others and express ourselves. It’s joyful, layered, and delicious—in every sense of the word.
Featured Artwork
Thinking of Burritos
Thinking of Burritos is a playful love letter to the foods that comfort and carry us—literally and emotionally. Drawing from my own mix of hunger, nostalgia, and absurdity, the piece leans into humor and abstraction, imagining what happens when craving becomes its own character.

A Personal Invitation
Food is one of the ways I process the world—it holds joy, culture, weirdness, and comfort all at once. Thinking of Burritos came out of a doodle that wouldn’t leave me alone, and I’m glad it found a home in a show that’s all about how food feeds our creativity too. If you're nearby, come see what happens when artists let their cravings take over the canvas.
